Potential Diagnostic Test for ASD

A collaborative study involving researchers from Sweden and Iran has indicated the potential for a diagnostic test for autism using analysis of proteins found in the blood.

Samples of blood plasma from children with ASD were studied for 'protein patterns' that seem to be linked to autism.  The protein is called complement factor C3 and is involved in the immune system.  Another small piece of the puzzle that we call autism......
